St. John's Leadership Training Program (LTP)

The Leadership Training Program is a peer mentorship program in the Fall and Spring on Fridays from 4:30-6:00 pm for kids in grades 1-8. LTP specializes in teaching boys and girls to live virtuously while being a leader in the world. The pillars of the Leadership Training Program are service, mentoring, and fun. Regnum Christi Missionaries, year-long volunteers, assist in running the program. Kids participate in community service projects and practice public speaking about their faith.

Kids in 6-8th grade serve as mentors to the juniors in grades K-5th. High school girls and boys can volunteer to assist.

Each grade school group does one large community service project. In the past, the Severna Park location has collected food for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry from the local neighborhood and invited residents to come to St. John for Easter, visited Msgr. Auer in a nursing home and delivered Thanksgiving cards, made blankets for a pro-life group, and collected Toys for those in need on behalf of a parish in Washington, DC.

Mentoring and Prayer

Every session is rooted in prayer and mentors lead the juniors in learning to talk about their faith through specific challenges and virtue lessons.

Kids have fun practicing virtue, learning about the saints, and enjoy a great community of kids!
